No, that's not a quote from the United Inventors Association or the Academy of Applied Science, but rather from the United Nations' specialized agency, WIPO (that's the World Intellectual Property Organization). Recently established by the WIPO, the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Division is addressing the IP educational needs of small business entities, including the very smallest. The SME Division recently launched a comprehensive web site certain to provide users with a remarkable global vista. Their clientele thus includes individual inventors and very small business concerns throughout the world.
Designed from the perspective of those unaccustomed to the arcane language of intellectual property (IP) aficionados, this is an easy to use resource. It provides reader-friendly answers to common business questions about IP and affords very small enterprises with important information to help them realize the benefits of intellectual property protection. Additionally, the SME Division web site will serve to educate and support IP policy developers, as well as inventor service providers.
