The Foundation's main objectives are:

To promote, conduct, and foster research, education, knowledge, and publication in the field of intellectual property, innovation, and patent, trademark, and copyright systems of the United States and other nations.
To educate and inform the general public and consumers of the importance and purpose of intellectual property protection.
The publication of an on-line journal on intellectual property research and developments around the world, with emphasis on feedback and interactive participation.
The production of symposia and the dissemination of audiovisual materials designed to inform the public about intellectual property, innovation and patent, trademark and copyright systems.
The commissioning, either by the Foundation itself, or by government bodies, corporations, professional firms, and others working through the Foundation, of research in the intellectual property field.
